Team members Will Cross and Meredith Graham recently presented at a campus-wide event dedicated to exploring the transformative power of artificial intelligence in innovation, research and learning at NC State University.

Meredith Graham presented on open publishing in the age of AI at a symposium celebrating ten years of Project Vox.

Topics included were strategies and opportunities for long-term collaboration, centralized support or funding for copyright instruction and labor, addressing gaps in copyright education and audiences that are unable to access current copyright education programs, and the potential for a copyright education committee for more centralized communication.

Meredith Jacob and Will Cross discussed how generative AI may impact OER creation and how to evaluate when it may be useful and when it may be harmful.  They focused on the risks and benefits of machine translation, ways to structure teaching to ensure meaningful practice, and the role of language teachers critically evaluating these new technologies in their role as language experts.
